Enjoy the movie in tamil language. A few months back, "American Sniper" was screened in Tamil in theaters in Chennai, Madurai and Udumalpet. The entire film was dubbed in Tamil, but it failed to generate much interest among the local audience. However, when it’s released on DVD and Blu-ray this month (April), Tamil speaking audiences will likely lap it up. The film is based on the life of Chris Kyle (played by Bradley Cooper), who served four tours of duty with the Navy SEALs before becoming America's deadliest sniper. He had 160 confirmed kills out of 255 probable kills during his military career (he guarded Sadaam Hussein at one point). "American Sniper" also presents his thoughts on the global war on terror. When Kyle was shot and killed in February 2013 at a shooting range by a fellow Marine suffering from PTSD, many people were shocked. The film's depiction of Kyle as an American hero started a nationwide debate about whether or not Kyle deserved the label of "hero" due to his participation in the Iraq War. Kyle's actions are defended by several of the film's characters, including his wife Taya (Taye Diggs) and his SEAL comrades. Kyle is also defended by the film's character "Gunner" (Michael Pena), who claims to have known Kyle for years before the Iraq War began. However, at the end of the film, it is made clear that many other characters known to have supported or acted alongside Kyle in Iraq dispute whether his actions were justified. The film ends on a note questioning whether war heroes should be worshiped as idols to be admired for their accomplishments, or if people should attempt to understand them better to prevent them from making similar mistakes in the future. cfa1e77820
